Stop Scrolling

Updated: Dec 11, 2020

I never realized I was so motivated by the words of other people. When I started back on this entrepreneur journey, I started to spend a lot of time reading and listening to podcasts. Not just about public relations and communications topics, but leadership, time management, the imposter syndrome … you name it. I realized that I really related to a lot of other women in the working mom space in a way that I didn’t feel like I related here at home. I started to realize that others out there were feeling the same feelings. Just recently on IGTV, #msrachelhollis said something like, “the world needs to hear your story … stop scrolling instagram and write the book.”

It stopped me. I realized that I was procrastinating. I wasn't telling my story. I was putting off doing interviews, writing articles and hitting the “publish” button on this blog because I was sure that I didn’t have anything new to say. I didn’t want to publish a blog full of posts about me that really didn’t help anyone. But then she said she had written nine books. NINE! I’ve heard of only two of them, never read any, but in that moment, she said what I needed to hear… stop scrolling and write.

So I’m writing to you. I’m writing to take you on a journey that I hope empowers and encourages you. I hope you see yourself in posts. I hope my words resonate with you and meet you where you are. I hope one day you'll read something here that encourages you to do the next thing.
